About Us

My drive towards solar comes from my need to help the environment coupled with the ease with which a homeowner can add simple solar solutions to their home. Solar has been more of a compulsion than a career. I can not understand why more isn’t done to get solar onto homes. All new homes should have some sort of passive solar design and photovoltaics already on the homes. The ancient Greeks, when faced with their own energy crisis, (they had cut down all the trees for fuel and building) they had laws to enforce all windows to be south facing and to have no north facing windows. They were saving their lives and culture.

After attending the first Earth Day while in high school, I was set on a course to help keep the planet healthy. In college, I taught myself solar and learned passive solar design in New Mexico. I continued on with teaching solar for homeowners while installing solar thermal systems: hot water, space heating, and swimming pool. I helped build museum exhibits for the first Sun Day and continued teaching solar through most of the 80’s. After a few career turns, I returned to solar, learning and then installing photovoltaic (electric) systems.
